What is Open Banking?
Open Banking uses standard programming codes called Application Programming Interfaces (API) to enable sharing of product information and your bank account data. API allows secure and efficient data sharing between HSBC and our Third-party Service Providers (TSPs).
These institutions (TSPs) leverage API framework to get product information, or access customer's account data with their consent. Watch this video (available in Chinese only) by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority to know more about TSPs and their Open Banking partnerships with banks.
With our advanced Open API infrastructure, you can easily access our offerings, services and interbank account data through our partners' digital channels. Our partnerships with TSPs, facilitated by HKMA's Open API framework, allow you to enjoy a better customer experience.
Check out our overall partnership list to learn more about our partnering TSPs, and the corresponding specific products and services they are providing.
What is Interbank Account Data Sharing (IADS)?
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Interbank Account Data Sharing (IADS) initiative allows the participating banks to share your account data once you consent with other banks[@wtb-open-banking] via API. As one of the participating banks in this program, we can enhance your banking experience and provide services that better meet your financial needs.
As a data provider, we'll share your HSBC current or savings account data with other banks through our Open API, upon your consent. To learn more about granting/cancelling/viewing data sharing consent, please visit Open Banking FAQs.
Stay tuned for our upcoming Open Banking services.

How can I manage the sharing of account data?
You are in full control of your account data. We will only share your HSBC account data to your selected bank upon obtaining your consent. You can log on to the HSBC HK Mobile Banking app anytime to view or manage your data sharing consent.
